Media Relations and Influencer Campaign

Gallaudet University, leading school for the deaf and hard-of-hearing, launched the Necessity of Now (NOW) campaign to celebrate and honor the legacy of an unsung hero in educational justice and civil rights, Louise B. Miller. 

Mrs. Miller’s advocacy and successful fight for access and equity for her son Kenneth who was born deaf resulted in a critical step forward and helped paving the way for the Supreme Court case Brown v. The Board of Education. The NOW campaign to date has secure more than $9 million for future economic equity and inclusion by funding scholarships, research and programming for the university’s Center for Black Deaf Studies along with an outdoor learning space on Gallaudet’s campus called the Louise B. Miller Pathways and Gardens.
